Sorry I haven’t been updating the website, writes Cllr Clive Barnden, adding “I’ve been in hospital for five weeks, but am now back home recuperating and hope to attend council meetings again.” In the meantime, here is a report from our most recent meeting, on 15th July 2010:
Petrol stealing – again
YET another month has seen drivers attempting to leave garages without paying for their petrol.
The police PACT report at our July meeting included two instances of making off without payment. This time it was from Skippool Service Station: in May it was from Singleton Service Station.
However, crimes were still low. Two cases of criminal damage to a house in Garstang Road were caused by the same person, who was arrested and charged. There were also two incidents of fly-tipping.
Single Village Hall is the venue for the next PACT meeting, on Tuesday, 3rd August 2010, starting at 7.30pm. In attendance will be Chief Insp Barrow, PC Doherty, and a representative of Fylde Borough Council.
Singleton in Bloom
Details of the winners have been posted on our new noticeboard outside the village hall.
Objection to layby closure
THERE has been one official objection to the planned closure of the Lodge Lane layby. Our clerk is writing to Clive Holt to reinforce how important the closure is for the residents of Singleton.
Parish Plan reprint
Another 50 copies of the parish plan have been reprinted at a cost of £125, with a copy going to Community Futures thanking them for their grant. Our initial print run was for 400 copies.
Parish funding
We are submitting applications for two projects to be funded by the Parish Fund. One is for lighting on the village hall car-park, the other is for the costs of closing the Lodge Lane layby.
Next meetings
We meet again on 26th August and then 23rd September. Both meetings will be in the Church Vestry, starting at 7.30pm, and all are welcome.
