New Defibrillator at the Village Hall

New Defibrillator at the Village Hall

The Parish Council is pleased to announce that it has recently been successful in securing a match-funded brand new defibrillator, which has replaced the older one at the Village Hall in Singleton. This has now been fitted and registered with the NHS.

Defibrillators need to have their pads and batteries regularly checked and replaced and spare parts were getting increasingly difficult to get for the older model. A charity in London was giving 1,000 new defibrillators match-funded nationwide (which in effect meant that they would be half-price) on a first-come/first-served basis and the Parish Council was successful in its bid.

Our contact at the NHS advised that the older defibrillator would definitely need replacing in 2 years but he did still have a supply of pads and batteries for it. The Parish Council was approached by The Wyre Chalet Park to sell the older defibrillator to them in full knowledge that it would need replacing in up to two years. The Parish Council at its meeting held on 12 November 2024 decided unanimously to donate the older machine to the Chalet Park and this has now been installed and registered with the NHS.

It is good to know that there is now another working defibrillator in the parish.
