Residents may have noticed the new “No Cold Calling” signs which have been erected recently in the village. This means that as Singleton is now in a “no cold calling” area, no-one has the right to call on anybody without a prior appointment. Reports were received recently about a man wondering round the village who had visited various properties and upset an elderly lady. Complaints were received about a similar individual visiting Staining. The Police were contacted by Cllr Chew who apprehended the man concerned and advised him in the strongest terms not to cold-call in Singleton again.
