After reading the latest Government guidance on managing playgrounds, the Parish Council has reluctantly decided not to reopen the playground for the time being. The Government’s guidance points out the importance of regular cleaning, limiting numbers, interactions etc., and the Parish Council does not have the staff to police this. The health and safety of the children is the major factor here.
The Parish Council is in communication with Fylde Borough Council, which regularly maintains the park, to ensure that the equipment is safe and in a good state of repair once conditions improve and we are able to open up the facilities once again for our children to enjoy.
